"'When you wake up in the morning, Pooh,'
said Piglet at last,
'what's the first thing you say to yourself?'
'What's for breakfast?' said Pooh.
'What do you say, Piglet?' 'I say,
I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?' said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully. 'It's the same thing,' he said."
A. A. Milne, from 'The House at Pooh Corner'

After a good night’s sleep the first thing you will notice as you start to prepare for the day ahead is the smell of baking bread and freshly ground coffee wafting from the kitchen at Clare House. This sends messages of things to come, of fresh food cooked to order, and the things to come? Grilled bacon, locally produced sausages, vine tomatoes, locally grown mushrooms, black pudding, fried bread and eggs cooked however you like them or, if you prefer, smoked salmon with scrambled eggs, eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine or, for something different, American style pancakes with maple syrup... there is also a vegetarian option...and this is just the cooked food!
The cold food buffet will tempt you with a wide range of fare which includes a selection of fruit juices, cereals, fresh fruit basket, seasonal berries, yoghurts, freshly baked muffins and the bread baked that morning.
To accompany your breakfast there is freshly brewed coffee, regular or decaffeinated, Twinnings English breakfast tea, regular or decaffeinated, Earl Grey tea, Green tea and a wide selection of fruit teas.
Remember.... it is best to explore the Isle of Purbeck on a full stomach, so why not experience one of the finest breakfasts this side of eternity.
